On 12 April 2023, thirty­‑two new university professors took over their appointment decrees in the field of the habilitation and inauguration proceedings (HK&IK) from the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Čaputová. Among the newly appointed professors were also members of the academic community of the Technical University of Košice:

• Prof. Ing. Peter Frankovský, PhD., from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, TUKE, appointed in the field of HK&IK “Applied Mechanics”

• Prof. Ing. Roman Vodička, PhD., from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, TUKE, appointed in the field of HK&IK “Engineering Structures and Transport Construction”

“You represent scientific and professional authorities with a fundamental influence on the quality and credibility of the university environment – and this is not only about the level of teaching itself, but also about human dimensions,” the President addressed the new university professors in her speech.
