TUKE awarding the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa

On October 22, 2019 at the premises of PKO Čierny Orol (Black Eagle) in Prešov, a ceremony was held to award the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Technical University of Košice

to prof. Ing. Nicolae Stelian Ungureanu, PhD.,

from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, North University Centre of Baia Mare in Romania. In manufacturing technologies and production techniques, Professor Ungureanu is one of the reputable and knowledgeable experts with significant international recognition.

The title was granted for his remarkable and significant contribution to the development of international cooperation with TUKE in the field of manufacturing technologies and production techniques, and his significant fostering of scientific and pedagogical growth of the creative staff of the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies TUKE with the seat in Prešov.

The beginning of cooperation of employees from the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies TUKE with Professor Ungureanu and his co-workers dates back to 1998. He worked actively mainly on mobility projects, and the cooperation was later extended to active cooperation in science. He was the opponent and the member of committees for defence of doctoral theses and habilitation procedures. He actively participated in more than 10 scientific conferences as the member of scientific committees of conferences organized by the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies TUKE. As the author he has published over 20 publications in cooperation with a staff from the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies. He has been the coordinator of four CEEPUS projects where one of the consortium members was also the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies.
