EDIH Cassovium Consortium Launches its Services to Support Digital Transformation

University Highlights

The EDIH Cassovium Consortium is launching its services to support digital transformation and increase market competitiveness. These free services are aimed at both small and medium-sized enterprises as well as public sector organisations.

The EDIH Cassovium Consortium is composed of the Technical University of Košice (TUKE), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) in Košice and the Košice IT Valley cluster. During the project they have built a database of more than 200 services, which are available now.

The EDIH Cassovium Consortium is the second largest EDIH in the country and focuses on providing support in the field of applied technologies such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, strengthening cyber security, etc. Its contribution also includes digital technology consulting, training, and networking. Its service portfolio covers data analytics, artificial intelligence services, machine learning, Internet of Things, implementation of energy-efficient solutions, robotics, automation services, cybersecurity, and employee skills development training (upskilling).

“We consider EDIH a great success because we have managed to establish in Košice what will bring benefits to the whole society. It basically has the task to link the knowledge that is present in universities and companies with the difficulties of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. We believe that IT and modern technologies represent an opportunity for a quality and prosperous life,” stated Ing. Juraj Girman, Chairman of the Board of IT Valley Košice.

Technical University of Košice has been at the very beginning of the concept to establish the EDIH Cassovium in Košice. Rector of the Technical University of Košice, Prof. Ing. Peter Mésároš, PhD., emphasized, “By implementing this project, we also want to approach the young generation in the region and convince them there is no need to travel outside of Košice for a quality education. TUKE is intending to use a wide complex of education, research, and innovation activities at all nine faculties of the university in providing services within the EDIH Cassovium project.”
