More than 600 participants took part in the Week of Sport at the Technical University of Košice (8-15 April 2019) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of university sport in Slovakia, history of which began by establishing the Faculty of Medicine of the Comenius University in 1919.

The opening event of the Week of Sport at TUKE was a two-hour-long marathon of pair speed climbing on a climbing wall, which took place on Monday. The week of Sport was opened on Tuesday by Ing. Marcel Behún, PhD. and PaedDr. Vladimír Harčarik, the Head of Department of Physical Education, who took part in the official kick-off 12 hours of football in the gym at Vysokoškolská Street. Doc. Iveta Vasková, the Dean of FMMR, opened the 3rd year of the University Charity Run for the FMMR Dean´s Cup at the TUKE Stadium by firing a starting pistol.

Wednesday was dedicated to three sports: Floorball Saliband Cup in gyms T1 and T2 at Jedlíková 7, 22nd year of Football Tournament for the Faculty of Economics Dean´s Cup in the gym at Němcovej Street, and Aerobics Fitmaraton in the gym at Urbánková Street.

On Thursday, the Streetball tournament took place in the gym at Němcovej Street. On Friday, the Golden Basket badminton tournament has already taken place for the 28th time in the gym at Jedlíková Street. In the same gym, the Live Yoga event closed the Week of Sport at TUKE.

The celebration of the 100th anniversary of university sport in Slovakia held at TUKE will be concluded by the 28th International Volleyball Mix Tournament, which you are invited to, and which will take place at the Slávia TUKE Stadium at Watsonova Street on 7-9 June 2019.
