Competition for Best Ddoctoral Thesis at TUKE Held November 6, 2017 During the „Week of science in Slovakia“

Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic announced in Slovakia „Week of science in Slovakia 2017“. During the week a competition for best doctoral thesis was held at TUKE, where full-time graduate students presented their works.

The committee consisted of faculty vicedeans for science and graduate study. The works were evaluated from the viewpoints of content (scientific) as well as from the viewpoint of quality and design. The committee chose these 4 best out of 18 works presented:

From the scientific viewpoint the following have been evaluated as best:

Ing. Martina Hrubovčáková - FMMaR – subject: Veinings on casts produced with method cold-box-amin and possibilities of their elimination in the conditions of Eurocast Košice s.r.o.
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Iveta Vasková, PhD

Ing. Róbert Žatkovič - FEI - subject: Powerful high-frequency DC/DC converter with soft switching at full range of load
Supervisor: Prof. Ing. Jaroslav Dudrik, PhD.

From the design and quality viewpoint the following have been evaluated as best:

Ing. Peter Čarák - SjF – subject: Utilization of optical methods in deformation and stress analysis in the vicinity of concentrators of support construction elements
Supervisor: doc. Ing. Miroslav Pástor, PhD.

Ing. Štefan Demčák - SvF – subject: Study of utilizing remedial procedures for removal of old environmental loads
Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Magdaléna Bálintová, PhD.
