Our students were the first to take part in the Pneumobil competition in Hungary

University Highlights

On May 10 – 12, 2018, the 11th annual competition of the compressed air vehicles “Pneumobil 2018“ took place in Eger (HU). Student teams from all over the world had a chance to enter the competition. The concept of the car is based on relatively strict rules of the International Aventics Pneumobile Competition 2018 (www.pneumobil.hu). 51 teams from all over Europe took part in the competition.

Our mechatronics students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering achieved a maximum speed of 30.6 km/h and were able to cross 3,075 m.

Pneumobil TUKE SjF is the first car of this type made in Slovakia. The car has a three-wheel chassis with 26” wheels and is powered by a pneumatic three-cylinder engine with a capacity of 1,885 cm3. Compressed air is used as a medium. Emissions from such a car are practically zero and therefore do not pollute the environment at all.
