The Rector, prof. Stanislav Kmeť, received the newly appointed professors of the Technical University of Košice in his office. It is always a major event when he admits new members to the ranks of TUKE professors, and especially because their appointment increases the reputation and credit of our university.

On 14 July 2020, they collected the appointment decrees from Her Excellency Zuzana Čaputová, the President of the Slovak Republic:

• prof. Ing. Tomáš Brestovič, PhD., from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE appointed in the field of "energy machines and equipment",
• prof. Ing. Mária Hagarová, PhD., from the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling TUKE appointed in the field of "materials",
• prof. Ing. Michal Hatala, PhD., from the Faculty of Manufacturing Technologies TUKE appointed in the field of "manufacturing technologies",
• prof. Ing. Radovan Hudák, PhD., from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE appointed in the field of "biomedical engineering".

The invitation of the Rector was also accepted by the TUKE professors inaugurated at Tomas Bata University in Zlín:

• prof. Ing. Beáta Gavurová, PhD., from the Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Management and Geotechnologies TUKE appointed on 28 November 2019 in the field of "business management and economics",
• prof. Ing. Alena Galajdová, PhD., from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TUKE appointed on 17 June 2020 in the field of "machine and process control".
