The first supercomputer of its kind, PERUN, launched at the Technical University of Košice
On November 20, 2025, in the presence of Samuel Migaľ, Minister of Investment, Regional Development and Informatization, the PERUN supercomputer was launched at the Technical University of Košice.
The PERUN supercomputer, operated at the Technical University of Košice, is funded by the Slovak Republic's Recovery and Resilience Plan and is one of the most significant digital modernization projects in Slovakia, which will propel the country among the states with high‑performance computing infrastructure at the European level. It is designed to provide cutting‑edge computing power for projects in the fields of artificial intelligence, modeling, simulations, big data processing, and next‑generation scientific research.
