On September 1, 2026, the merger of the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy, and Recycling at the Technical University of Košice with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Košice took effect. As a result of the merger, the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy, and Recycling ceases to exist, and its rights and obligations are transferred to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Košice.
