Slovakia's Student Personality

University Highlights

On December 13, PhD. student Martina Hrubovčáková of the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling at TUKE has been awarded at the gala meeting devoted to this year's Student Personality of Slovakia.

The award Slovakia Student Personality of the Year is a national competition of young talented people with the aim of advancing young Slovak personalities at universities, introducing them to the wide public, and motivating more students to outstanding achievements. Moreover, the nominations are evaluated by top experts in the field who are recognized in both Slovakia and abroad, including experts appointed by the Slovak Rectors Conference and the Slovak Academy of Sciences.

Martina Hrubovčáková received the award for study results and publication activity, most of all, however, for the contribution of her dissertation thesis - a patent for an additive being used in foundries. According to the author, this additive provides for a smooth surface of casts primarily in automotive industry, however,it can be used for all metal and steel casts in all areas of industry.
