TUKE Part of Discussion about the Future of EU

Representatives of the European Commission in Slovakia in collaboration with Technical University in Košice organized during Open Day at TUKE a discussion about the future of European Union.

On October 24 2017, at the university library of TUKE, in the first part, which was concerned with the future of EU, discussed Dušan Chrenek, head of the Representatives of European Commission in Slovakia, with Ladislav Miko, deputy general manager of the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety of European Commission (DG SANTE).

„In Slovakia we offer a neutral platform for discussion about what changes we need. Since today the question is not whether there is going to be a change in the EU, rather, in what manner. It is the university environment that is an excellent venue for getting acquainted with opinions of young people on these timely topics” emphasized Dušan Chrenek.

In the second part, in the panel discussion concerned with green economy and energetics, Ladislav Miko was joined by Anton Čižmár, prorector for innovations and transfer of technologies at TUKE, Pavol Miroššay of Košice IT Valley, Miloš Grajcár of the Ministry of Environment as well as representative of US Steel Košice.
