Picnic at TUKE 2019

May 7, 2019 - The Aurel Stodola Anniversary Celebration Day at TUKE was rich in numerous accompanying events. At 9am, it started by an informal spring open day titled “Picnic at TUKE”, which was primarily oriented on primary and secondary school students. During the opening at Aula Maxima, visitors were able to see a laser show, living statues of eminent personalities (Aurel Stodola, Albert Einstein and Milan Rastislav Štefánik) and a short presentation of the work of Aurel Stodola prepared by Mr. Miroslav Moravčík, the external worker of the Museum of Janko Kráľ in Liptovský Mikuláš. Alphorngruppe Kaisten, a Swiss ensemble with traditional long shepherd horns, performed at the end of the celebration opening.

At 9:30am, the programme continued with Wandering around TUKE (Potulka po TUKE) with Milan Kolcun, where the wanderers learned something about the history of the university and its unique campus.

Despite the cool weather, the main campus of TUKE was filled with fascinating objects and facts from the fields of science, technology, art, and sports, which the visitors could try and test themselves. Satisfaction and smiles reflecting on the faces of the visitors proved that TUKE continues a nice tradition.

We are already looking forward to the next year´s Picnic at TUKE.
