New innovative start-ups at TUKE Incubator

The Technical University of Košice (TUKE) in cooperation with its partners: the Slovak Business agency (SBA) and company SAAB AB, organised evaluation of the start-ups, which are ending their activities in the Start-up Centre of TUKE within the half-year acceleration pre-incubation phase, on January 24, 2018. In their presentations, start-ups presented the progress in development of their innovative projects (business plans, past achievements as well as their plans for the future) to the jury.

The jury recommended to include following projects in the next stage of business start-up acceleration within the TUKE Incubator: BodyFix.io, a physiotherapeutically oriented project aimed at improving the process of spinal problem diagnostics, Klavesnica HndCubeKeys, a project offering a solution for a special keyboard for handicapped people, Enterprise IoTNET, a project focused on the creation of the decentralised IoT solutions, HRAI, a project focused on development of innovative games for mobile devices and TuLiMark, a project which aims to develop special tourist signs for passive navigation.

The evaluation committee under the authority of prof. Ing. Stanislav Kmeť, the Chairman of the Committee, Rector of TUKE, decided on advancing start-ups. The committee members were representatives of investors, private and public sphere: Ing. K. Zeleníková (Slovak Business Agency), Ing. J. D. Vojtka (FTP Slovakia), Ing. J. Girman (T-Systems Slovakia) and representatives of TUKE: prof. Ing. A. Čižmár, CSc., Vice-Rector for Innovations and Technology Transfer, doc. Ing. František Jakab, PhD., the director of the USP TECHNICOM, Ing. M. Chovanec, PhD., the director of the Institute of Computer Technology, doc. Ing. A. Lavrin, CSc. and Ing. M. Blizco. Currently, there are 25 start-ups in the business acceleration ecosystem of TUKE. For example, CropTech – winners of Startup award (in the “Company” category), Fitliner Training – 2016 finalists of Young innovative entrepreneur /Mladý inovatívny podnikateľ/, VIZUALIZACKY – Tatra Banka´s Business Idea 2014 Winners, Chargebrella – Business Idea 2016 winners, IoTNET – “The Best Project” at the international IBM Hackathon 2017, 1st place in the Slovak round and 2nd place in the Europian round of the Cisco StartUp Creathon 2016, HRAI – winner of the Information Technology, Mobile Technologies and Web category at the Slovak University Startup Cup 2017, winner of the Tatra Banka Foundation´s Business Idea 2017.

Several of them, while working in the business acceleration ecosystem of TUKE, succeeded in gaining investor support and placing a number of successful software and hardware solutions on the market.
