The Faculty of Aeronautics of the Technical University of Košice was established in 2005. Despite the seemingly short period of existence it has longstanding experience in training pilots and aviation specialists (civil but also military ones). The faculty is committed to the tradition of the Air Force Academy of the general Milan Rastislav Stefanik in Košice, which ensured education for pilots and aircrew for over 30 years.
The main objective of the Faculty of Aeronautics is to contribute to the achievement of the Technical University, in particular in the field of aeronautical technology, aeronautics and aerospace. The most important part of its commitment is to provide, organize and ensure higher education and lifelong learning and to implement creative scientific research in aerospace engineering, avionics, construction, repair and operation of aeronautical technology, management and provision of air transport and related issues. The Faculty of Aeronautics received the certificate of the Civil Aviation/ Transportation Office of the Slovak Republic on the professional competence to provide theoretical training as part of pilot training, training of air traffic control personnel and the certificate "Aircraft Maintenance training organization under Part 147", which grants entitlement to provide training for the aircraft maintenance technicians in accordance with the requirements of aviation legislation of the European Union, which significantly extends the employment opportunities of its graduates abroad.
The Faculty of Aeronautics provides higher education in the field of aeronautics in its three levels, in particular bachelor, master and PhD studies, full-time and part-time.
Tuition fee for part-time bachelor study is set at €550 per academic year.
Tuition fee for part-time engineer study is set at €750 per academic year.
