The Faculty of Metallurgy of the Technical University of Košice comprehensively focuses on the issues of production and processing of metallic and non-metallic materials, which makes the faculty unique in Slovakia. Graduates become technologists, technical managers; they work in production and business companies, design and research organizations.
In 2015, 63 years have passed since the establishment of the Faculty of Metallurgy of the Technical University of Košice, which was established together with the Mining Faculty and the Faculty of Heavy Engineering by the government decree no. 30 of June 8, 1952 as a part of the Technical University of Košice. This is how the metallurgical recovery of higher education in Slovakia succeeded after 33 years since the cessation of the 157 years old Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica in 1919. The Faculty of Metallurgy is the only faculty of metallurgy in Slovakia and is ranked fourth among the technical faculties in Slovakia.
At the Faculty of Metallurgy it is possible to study in ten bachelor´s programs, eight master´s programs and six doctoral programs.
Tuition fee for part-time bachelor study is set at €500 per academic year.
Tuition fee for part-time engineer study is set at €600 per academic year.
