The Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control and Geotechnologies (FBERG) prides itself on having a long mining tradition and tradition of higher education dating back to 1762 which are internationally accepted in the Declaration of successors of the spiritual heritage of the Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica.
FBERG has a profiled education both in traditional mining disciplines as well as in attractive and desired study programs in the fields of geodesy, geographical information systems, geology, geotechnologies, environmental technologies, extracting and processing raw materials, informatization and process control, industrial logistics, management of Earth´s resources, the use of alternative energy resources, rescue, fire and safety technologies, but also in the development of geotourism.
FBERG puts emphasis on extra-curricular activities of its students, organizes matriculation ceremonies, excursion tours, allows students to take part in sports activities, participate in the traditional "Salamander Days" , "Jumping over leather" within the yearly Miners Ball of "Barbora", or work in student clubs which prepare various events for FBERG students.
